Job summary

Igne seeks a Geotechnical Engineer / Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join the Ground Investigation Division (GI England) based from Warrington. You will collect and validate subsurface data, interpret site information, and contribute to technical reporting while coordinating with the Geotechnical Co-ordinator.

The role requires a degree in geotechnical disciplines, contract management experience, excellent communication, teamwork, and a valid driving license.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Masters' degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Geology and Environmental Science or related discipline
• Previous experience in contract management of ground investigation projects
• Excellent written and oral communication skills and reporting abilities
• Ability to work as part of a team
• Full driving licence (travel is required)

Responsibilities

• Collect, validate, and log subsurface data, including borehole logs, sampling records, and geophysical survey outputs.
• Perform geological interpretation of site data to develop factual logs and initial ground models.
• Contribute to technical reporting, preparing factual geotechnical logs, laboratory data summaries, and interpretative narratives.
• Maintain project schedules and resource allocations in collaboration with the Geotechnical Co-ordinator.
• Support tender preparation by providing scope input, cost estimates, and technical write-ups.
• Monitor specialist equipment usage and report any maintenance or calibration requirements.
• Oversee and manage ground investigation projects.
