Job summary

Skilled Careers partners with a globally recognised engineering consultancy to recruit a Geotechnical Engineer for their London team. You will contribute to geotechnical design and delivery across projects, collaborating with multi-disciplinary groups and liaising with clients and regulators.

The role involves site investigations, analysis, reporting, and working on earthworks and ground improvement solutions with a strong emphasis on soil mechanics and digital engineering.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering or Geotechnical Engineering.
• Experience in geotechnical design within a consultancy environment.
• Chartered status (ICE/IStructE or equivalent) or working toward.
• Strong understanding of soil mechanics and ground behaviour.
• Familiarity with geotechnical software (PLAXIS, GeoStudio).
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Undertaking geotechnical analysis and design (foundations, slopes, retaining structures).
• Supporting and managing site investigations and ground assessments.
• Producing technical reports, calculations, and design documentation.
• Working on earthworks, deep excavations, and ground improvement solutions.
• Collaborating with structural, civil, and infrastructure teams.

With a strong and growing presence in the UK, this organisation collaborates with developers, architects, and contractors across the full project lifecycle—from concept through to construction and delivery.

Their geotechnical team plays a critical role in major infrastructure and building projects, delivering expertise in ground engineering, soil-structure interaction, and foundation design across diverse and challenging environments.

Due to continued growth, they are seeking a Geotechnical Engineer to join their London team.

The Role

You will contribute to the design and delivery of geotechnical solutions on a wide range of projects, working closely with multidisciplinary teams.

Key responsibilities include:
