Job summary

NES Fircroft is seeking a Senior Design Engineer (Geotechnical) to lead geotechnical design across major UK water and wastewater projects from concept through construction.

You will coordinate with civil, structural, process and construction teams, review ground investigations, and mentor junior engineers while ensuring buildability and technical excellence. This role offers exposure to design & build environments and long-term career development.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil/Geotechnical Engineering.
• CEng or working towards chartership.
• Experience in geotechnical design within infrastructure projects.
• Experience with ground investigations, foundations and earthworks.

Responsibilities

• Leading geotechnical design activities across major water and wastewater projects.
• Producing and reviewing geotechnical designs including foundations and earthworks.
• Managing and interpreting ground investigation data for design solutions.
• Undertaking geotechnical calculations, assessments and reports.
• Coordinating with civil, structural, process and construction teams.
• Supporting buildability reviews and providing input during design development.
• Managing interfaces with clients, contractors and consultants.
• Mentoring junior engineers.
