Job Description

FINTEC recruit is supporting recruitment for a Senior Geotechnical Design Engineer. This is a permanent role with a salary of up to circa £60,000 plus benefits, contributory pension, etc. The position is based in the Greater Manchester region and involves working on infrastructure and wastewater projects.

Responsibilities

• Produce geotechnical and civil engineering design deliverables, including calculations, reports, and drawings.
• Lead the preparation of ground investigations (GI) specifications, interpretive reports, and design documentation.
• Ensure designs comply with technical standards, industry regulations, and internal quality processes.
• Participate in design reviews and Hazop/Hazid meetings.
• Undertake estimates for projects and monitor delivery progress.
• Manage and record all design changes.
• Mentor and direct junior staff.

Skills and Experience

• Minimum 10 years of experience in geotechnical and/or civil engineering design.
• Strong knowledge of geotechnical principles, site investigations, and reporting.
• HND or Degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Proficient in engineering software and IT tools.
• Registered with a professional organization and actively working towards Chartership.
• Experience in regulated infrastructure environments such as rail, utilities, highways, nuclear, or oil & gas.
