Job summary

PureGym is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to lead spatial analytics within the Data & Analytics team. The role blends home and London office work, focusing on geospatial models that inform where to grow, how gyms fit into communities, and what drives location performance.

You will own spatial models, validate them rigorously, and collaborate across Property, Finance, Engineering and Data to deliver robust, scalable insights for strategic decisions.

Qualifications

• Degree in a quantitative or geospatial discipline or equivalent practical experience.
• Several years of applied Data Science experience with geospatial models used to inform real-world decisions.
• Strong Python and SQL skills with tested and maintainable code.

Responsibilities

• Own the spatial and location models powering analytics tools from prototype to production assets.
• Build and evolve catchment, location and demand models.
• Partner with Property and Finance to translate questions into analytical problems.
• Rigorously validate models with out-of-time testing and uncertainty measures.
• Deploy, monitor and retrain models with MLflow and versioning.
• Turn model outputs into clear, commercially relevant recommendations for senior stakeholders.
