Job summary

Steer is seeking a Senior Consultant/Consultant to join our Geospatial and Data Analytics team in the UK. You will apply GIS, data analytics and storytelling to help clients solve complex transport challenges while delivering maps, dashboards and web maps.

You’ll work with planners, economists and engineers across diverse projects, developing solutions and mentoring others. This role offers hybrid work and opportunities to shape innovative analytics.

Qualifications

• Around 2–5 years of experience in geospatial, GIS or data analytics.
• Experience using ArcGIS (Desktop/Pro/Online) or QGIS.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Experience with both spatial and non‑spatial datasets.
• Ability to clearly communicate technical findings to non‑technical audiences.
• Experience producing high‑quality maps and visualisations.
• Proactive and eager to learn new tools and techniques.

Responsibilities

• Deliver geospatial analysis using GIS software (ArcGIS Pro/Online, QGIS).
• Analyse transport, demographic and spatial data to generate insights.
• Develop maps, dashboards, and interactive visuals for client understanding.
• Support design and delivery of digital tools and web mapping applications.
• Collaborate with transport planners, economists, engineers and data specialists.
• Improve analytical workflows through automation and new methods.
• Present findings via reports, presentations and workshops.
• Build client relationships and contribute to business development.
