Job summary

Penguin Recruitment Ltd is recruiting a Senior Geoenvironmental Consultant for a leading multidisciplinary consultancy in Hemel Hempstead. You will manage geoenvironmental and contaminated land projects, produce Phase 1 and 2 reports, and mentor junior staff.

The role involves varied technical and project management responsibilities, with a focus on client liaison, planning ground investigations, and interpreting data. A degree in a relevant field and Chartered status are desirable.

Qualifications

• Degree in Geology, Environmental Science, Engineering Geology or related discipline.
• Strong experience in geoenvironmental consultancy.
• Good understanding of contaminated land and UK environmental legislation.
• Experience with Phase 1/2 investigations and technical reporting.
• Ground investigation and site supervision experience.
• Strong communication and project management skills.
• Ideally working towards or holding Chartered status with a relevant professional body.

Responsibilities

• Managing and delivering geoenvironmental and contaminated land projects.
• Producing Phase 1 and Phase 2 reports.
• Planning and supervising ground investigations.
• Reviewing and interpreting ground investigation and laboratory data.
• Developing conceptual site models and assessing contamination risks.
• Supporting remediation strategies and validation.
• Liaising with clients, contractors, regulators and other stakeholders.
• Mentoring junior members of the team.
• Supporting project management, budgets and programme delivery.
