Job summary

Penguin Recruitment is seeking a Senior Geoenvironmental Consultant to join their Birmingham team. The role blends site work with technical reporting and project management across contaminated land, ground investigation, and remediation projects.

You will lead ground investigations, produce Phase 1 and Phase 2 reports, review data, develop conceptual site models, and mentor junior staff, while managing budgets and client relationships.

Qualifications

• Experience in geoenvironmental consultancy
• Proven track record with contaminated land and ground investigations
• Strong report writing and data interpretation skills

Responsibilities

• Managing and supervising ground investigations and contaminated land assessments
• Producing Phase 1 Preliminary Risk Assessments and Phase 2 Site Investigation reports
• Reviewing historical, geological and environmental data
• Developing conceptual site models and undertaking contamination risk assessments
• Soil, groundwater and gas monitoring and sampling
• Managing subcontractors and site investigation contractors
• Interpreting laboratory data and assessing pollutant linkages
• Producing remediation strategies and validation reports
• Supporting remediation projects and overseeing validation works
• Preparing technical reports and presenting findings to clients
• Managing projects, budgets and programmes
• Supporting and mentoring junior members of the team
