Axiom Personnel Ltd is seeking a Generator Controls & Commissioning Engineer to join their expanding team in the UK. You will lead commissioning, servicing and fault diagnosis on diesel generator systems and control panels, with travel across the UK and internationally.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Generator Engineer, Commissioning Engineer, Controls Engineer, or similar role.
• Excellent understanding of electrical systems, power generation equipment, and control panels.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Experience commissioning and servicing diesel generator systems.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Knowledge of generator control systems and synchronisation equipment.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Willingness to travel extensively, including overseas assignments and weekend work will be required.
• Desirable: DSE/ComAp/Woodward knowledge; PLCs; Industrial controls; NVQ/City & Guilds awareness; HNC/HND awareness.

Responsibilities

• Commission, test, and fault-find generator control systems and associated electrical panels.
• Carry out generator servicing, maintenance, repairs, and upgrades.
• Diagnose and resolve electrical and control-related issues on both new and existing installations.
• Configure and commission industry-standard generator controllers and monitoring systems.
• Conduct site acceptance testing (SAT) and factory acceptance testing (FAT) where required.
• Produce commissioning reports, service documentation, and technical records.
• Provide technical support to customers and internal teams.
• Travel throughout the UK and overseas to support customer sites and project requirements.
• Participate in planned weekend work and out-of-hours support when required.
• Ensure all work is carried out safely and in line with company and industry standards.
