Job description

Senior General Foreman – Infrastructure

Location – Yorkshire

We are looking to hear from experienced Senior General Foreman to join our Infrastructure division to work on upcoming highways projects and frameworks for the Local Authority North business unit.

We have various projects coming up in the West & North Yorkshire region including roundabout / junction upgrades and public realm work as part of the Transforming Cities Fund (TCF). Ideally candidates will be based locally in Yorkshire / North of England.

What you will be doing:

  • Contribute to a safe working environment.
  • Manage day-to-day site-based construction activities.
  • Coordinate resources effectively for project execution.
  • Ensure delivery of temporary and permanent works per design.
  • Oversee material and plant management to meet programme and financial goals.
  • Assist with planning and programming alongside site engineering teams.
  • Lead site discipline meetings to support coordination and project delivery.
  • Ensure RAMS, COSHH assessments, and safety plans are in place before work begins.
  • Working closely with and managing subcontractors.
  • Providing regular progress updates to senior management and other stakeholders.

About you:

  • Strong commitment to safety and ability to work safely on site.
  • Effective communication skills with site teams, subcontractors, and customers.
  • Experience executing work in line with ITPs, quality standards, and safety protocols.
  • Proven leadership skills, able to manage teams and subcontractors effectively.
  • Relevant experience of working on large civils projects, with discipline-specific expertise.
  • Relevant CSCS Card, SMSTS certificate and Microsoft Office expertise.
