Job summary

Matchtech Group is seeking a Senior General Foreman to join its permanent, site-based Construction team on a project within the UU region. The role supports the Construction Manager and Site Manager, coordinates site activities, and ensures work complies with method statements and risk assessments on water-sector projects.

The ideal candidate will have water-industry experience, a construction-related ONC/HNC, and relevant certifications such as SMSTS/SSSTS and First Aid.

Qualifications

• Senior foreman or equivalent site supervision role in civil engineering.
• Experience within the water industry.
• ONC or HNC in a construction-related discipline.
• SMSTS or SSSTS certification.
• First Aid qualification.
• Confined space training is desirable.
• Strong understanding of site management, health, safety and environmental requirements.
• Ability to interpret method statements, risk assessments and project programmes.

Responsibilities

• Supporting the Construction Manager and Site Manager in coordinating and controlling site activities
• Assisting with the initial site set-up and implementing appropriate frameworks, systems and procedures
• Coordinating and supervising a section of work on major projects or controlling all site activities on smaller projects
• Applying and enforcing methods and controls to ensure the effective and continuous use of site resources
• Supporting the assessment of security risks and implementing suitable security measures for property and equipment
• Maintaining and enforcing statutory health, safety and environmental standards in accordance with company policies
• Ensuring all works are carried out in line with approved method statements and risk assessments
• Monitoring compliance with HSQE policies, procedures, programme requirements and budget controls
