Job summary

TLT LLP is seeking an experienced General Counsel to provide strategic legal leadership on a major energy infrastructure programme in the UK. The role focuses on EPC, EPCI and O&M contracting, partnering with project leadership to deliver high-value outcomes.

Open to England & Wales-qualified solicitors with a flexible UK-based arrangement and frequent travel to London, plus some UK/Europe travel. The 12-month contract can be extended, with a competitive day rate via Umbrella.

Qualifications

• Qualified solicitor (England & Wales).
• Strong UK commercial contracts expertise.
• Experience supporting major infrastructure or energy projects.
• Proven experience with EPC, EPCI, construction, engineering or O&M contracts.
• Experience managing external legal advisers.
• Able to work independently within multidisciplinary project teams.
• Strong stakeholder management skills, including advising senior leaders.

Responsibilities

• Provide commercially focused legal advice on key project decisions.
• Embed legal considerations into business and technical decision-making.
• Oversee legal risk and governance processes.
• Lead legal contact for the project and coordinate internal/external advice.
• Support procurement, negotiation and management of EPC, EPCI and O&M contracts.
• Develop templates and guidance to improve efficiency.
• Monitor legal spend and resource allocation.
• Coordinate cross-border UK/German legal support on development and consents.
