Job summary

H9 Technical Recruitment is supporting an international engineering and green-energy organisation with the appointment of a Senior Legal Counsel to its UK-based Legal and Contract Management team.

This senior, commercially focused role advises senior stakeholders through tendering, negotiation, execution, claims and dispute resolution on major infrastructure and energy projects across multiple international markets.

Qualifications

• A law degree and strong professional legal background; admission to a recognised Bar or legal jurisdiction would be advantageous.
• At least five years’ relevant experience in international law firms, large engineering groups or global project organisations.
• Experience in infrastructure, energy, power generation, or major‑project environments.
• Experience drafting and negotiating complex project agreements.
• Exposure to tendering, execution‑stage claims and dispute management.
• Experience with O&M or long‑term service agreements is valuable.
• Fluent English and willingness to travel internationally; German helpful but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Advising senior business leaders on legal and contractual risks across international projects.
• Structuring, drafting and negotiating complex agreements with customers, suppliers and partners.
• Supporting tenders, contract execution and long‑term service arrangements.
• Developing strategies for high‑value claims and disputes across jurisdictions.
• Advising on joint ventures and strategic commercial arrangements.
• Guidance on governance, regulatory and compliance matters.
• Supporting investigations and providing legal training as required.
• Providing leadership and guidance to Contract Managers across sales and project execution.
