Job summary

East Cheshire NHS Trust is looking for a Consultant Ophthalmologist to join the Medical Directorate. The post requires leadership in complex ophthalmology cases and a strong commitment to multidisciplinary teamwork to deliver outstanding patient care.

Applicants must have FRCOphth (or equivalent) and GMC Specialist Register, or be within six months of registration. UK-trained candidates with CCT within six months are welcome to apply.

Qualifications

• Broad ophthalmology experience
• Fully competent in phacoemulsification and cataract surgery
• Experience in oculoplastic management and surgery
• FRCOphth or equivalent and GMC specialist registration required

Responsibilities

• Share Consultant Clinical responsibilities within the department
• Lead management of complex gastroenterology cases and liaison with nursing staff
• Ensure waiting list targets and standards are met
• Ensure clear management plans are documented in patient notes
