Senior Gardener

Salary: £35,000-£40,000 DOE

Location: Virginia Water, Surrey

A fantastic opportunity is available for a skilled and knowledgeable gardener to join a team working in a private estate in north west Surrey. This role involves maintaining an established garden while also supporting the development of new garden areas.

As the senior gardener, you will be responsible for the maintenance of the established gardens and assisting in the development of other areas under the leadership of the head gardener. The ideal candidate will possess strong horticultural knowledge and experience in maintaining private gardens to the highest standards, along with experience in leading a small team and the initiative to work independently.

The garden extends to 8 acres, with 4 acres well established and the remaining 4 acres under development by a leading garden designer. The gardens feature an incredible array of specimens that require knowledgeable care.

The family enjoys spending time in the gardens, and the owner is very passionate and involved in their development.

Requirements

1. Horticultural qualification
2. Strong horticultural experience
3. Prior experience working in a private setting (ideally)

Schedule: Full time, Monday to Friday, 7:30 am - 4:30 pm, working 1 weekend every 6 weeks for the same time off in lieu.
