For 30 years, we’ve been independently developing and publishing incredible video games at our multiple studios founded by Jason & Chris Kingsley. Rebellion is more than just games; we have our own film and mo-cap studio, create board games, publish books, and through 2000AD, publish comics and graphic novels such as Judge Dredd.

We are seeking a Senior Gameplay Programmer to join our experienced code team for exciting unannounced projects. Be part of large-scale projects crafted by a seasoned team renowned for exceptional shooters.

Your role as a Senior Gameplay Programmer will involve developing and implementing gameplay code using our in-house engine, ensuring integration aligns with technical constraints and project goals.

You will join a passionate, experienced team with a proven record of delivering quality experiences.

This opportunity can be based in Oxford, Warwick, or Runcorn, offering flexibility, collaboration, and a world-class team. We provide a relocation package, including assistance, temporary accommodation, and support for a smooth transition.

While we encourage working from our studios for face-to-face collaboration, we are open to hybrid options based on individual needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and test gameplay code, focusing on complex classes and functionalities.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to foster a positive work environment.
  • Resolve bugs and address performance issues efficiently.
  • Conduct pre-commit testing to prevent issues and maintain code quality.
  • Comment code adequately and adhere to coding standards.
  • Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback.
  • Update tasks in Jira to monitor progress.
  • Assist team members and contribute to backlog review and prioritization.

Requirements:

  • Proficient in C/C++ with a solid understanding of object-oriented development.
  • Experience with at least one published console or PC game, contributing to gameplay mechanics and flow.
  • Experience in multi-threaded programming for performance optimization.
  • Familiarity with project scheduling, milestones, and delivery.
  • Knowledge of industry best practices.
  • Passionate about shooters and/or cooperative gaming.
