Job summary

Astrid is seeking an experienced Senior Gameplay Engineer to join its distributed team and push the boundaries in gaming and IP. You will work on cooperative open-world experiences, crafting systems and gameplay that enable players to build and explore together.

The role is remote with regular in-person meetups, a strong emphasis on code quality, rapid iteration, and collaborative design. You will mentor peers and help maintain high engineering standards across the project.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience developing video games or gameplay systems.
• Solid knowledge of Unreal Engine and C++.
• Proven experience engineering gameplay systems and code design.
• Strong problem-solving, debugging and optimisation skills.
• Technical communication and ability to create/maintain documentation.

Responsibilities

• Engineer systems, features and tests in C++ and Blueprints.
• Prototype gameplay features in collaboration with design/engineering.
• Identify and mitigate risks with proposed solutions.
• Share knowledge, mentor colleagues in area of expertise.
