THE SEARCH:

Altus Partners is supporting a global Private Equity fund in search of a Fund Accountant with broad commercial exposure, with the finance HQ in London. This team offers a diverse range of finance duties, including key contact with the investment and deal teams. The fund operations team promotes a forward-looking, modern working culture, good work-life balance, clear career progression, and hybrid working.

The accounting functions are outsourced to administrators, allowing a focus on review processes and offering career growth opportunities as AUM increases across various asset classes.

This Fund Accountant role focuses on the Private Equity side of the business and supports operational due diligence. The ideal candidate will be recently qualified or have up to 2-3 years PQ with excellent technical knowledge of PE, Investment, and Asset Management.

THE ROLE:

1. Investment Support: assisting in investment and operational due diligence, investor reporting, investor relations, responding to investor requests, and supporting portfolio management.
2. Fund Operations: coordinating quarterly and year-end financial reporting, calculating management fees, overseeing external audits and administrator functions, and providing taxation support where needed.
3. Reviewing legal documents and contracts, producing bespoke reports, and managing internal and external stakeholder relationships.
4. Maintaining carried interest calculation models, cash management, and treasury oversight.
5. Governance and Risk Management: monitoring internal controls, maintaining fund operations processes, and conducting governance and risk diligence of third-party investment managers.
6. Project Coordination: managing projects, strategic initiatives, and process improvements.
7. Data Analytics: inputting, verifying, refining data, and enhancing models.

THE REQUIREMENTS:

• Chartered Accountant, ACA, ACCA, or equivalent qualification.
• 0-3 years PQ experience.
• Experience with Financial Services clients or FCA regulated environments.
• Experience working at a top professional services firm as part of an accounting qualification.
• Technical knowledge of Private Funds.
• Proven ability to facilitate change and build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to achieve project goals.
