Job summary

Ocho People is seeking a Senior QA Engineer (Functional) for a fully remote role across the UK. You will own manual and functional testing, validate end-to-end behavior, and ensure quality across multi-component systems.

There is potential to grow into automation as the QA function matures, but initial emphasis is on strong manual testing expertise. You will collaborate across teams, contribute to release readiness, and help improve QA processes.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in manual/functional software testing.
• Strong integration testing experience in complex, multi-component systems.
• Hands-on with Postman and Jira, and API/integration testing.
• Solid grounding in QA fundamentals, including regression testing, SDLC, and Agile delivery.
• ISTQB or similar certification (Desirable).
• Exposure to API automation fundamentals or cloud platforms (AWS/Azure) (Desirable).

Responsibilities

• Create structured, comprehensive manual test cases from business requirements and user stories.
• Execute functional, UI, integration, and regression test cases across releases.
• Validate new features and bug fixes against acceptance criteria.
• Conduct end-to-end integration testing across multi-component systems.
• Test APIs, data flows, and third-party integrations for correct behaviour.
• Identify, document, and work with engineering to resolve integration issues.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to assess the quality impact of system changes.
• Feed into sprint ceremonies with quality-focused insight.
• Provide clear, timely feedback on release readiness and quality risk.
• Support ongoing improvement of QA processes and tooling.
