Job summary

GitLab is seeking a Senior Fullstack Engineer for GTM Engineering to design and build backend systems and services powering our go-to-market and growth platforms. You will contribute across the stack, including frontend work when needed, and influence technical direction while mentoring peers.

You should bring a strong track record of owning production backend systems, deep experience with API design and data modeling, and the ability to make sound trade-offs in a fast-paced, remote-first

Qualifications

• Experience owning backend systems in production.
• Proven ability to design scalable backend services and APIs.
• Strong communication of architectural decisions to distributed teams.
• Ability to balance speed and long-term maintainability.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain backend services and APIs that support GTM and growth platforms
• Contribute across the stack, including frontend work when needed
• Contribute to technical direction and evaluate trade-offs between speed and maintainability
• Identify and resolve performance, scalability, or reliability issues in backend systems
• Review code and designs from peers and provide constructive feedback
• Mentor junior engineers on the team
• Document system design decisions and architecture for reuse by others
