The role is hybrid, typically 3 days in the office, and involves leading technical execution, architecture, mentoring, and partnering with PMs and designers.

Strong background in web apps with Go, Ruby, Python, Scala; scale and reliability; ownership and collaboration.

Qualifications

• Significant experience building web-based applications in a modern stack (Go, Ruby, Python, Scala).
• Ability to design and operate web architecture at scale with high-traffic workloads.
• Ownership of relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and experience with NoSQL backends like Redis, DynamoDB, or Elasticsearch.
• Commitment to software craft, with readable, well-tested code.
• Strong collaborative leadership and mentoring skills.

Responsibilities

• Drive technical execution by designing, building, and scaling backend services and frontend components for high-traffic workloads (20krpm and above).
• Lead architectural improvements and code reviews to ensure efficiency, visibility, and operational health of the team's systems.
• Partner with PMs and Experience Designers to plan projects, foresee dependencies, and mitigate technical risks.
• Break down complex problems into deliverable choices and influence the roadmap and technical direction within the team.
• Mentor colleagues and take an active role in the engineering hiring process to build high-performing teams.
