Job summary

Elsevier Limited Company in Oxford is seeking a Senior II Software Engineer to design, develop, and deploy cloud-hosted applications in a distributed system. You will collaborate with stakeholders and mentor teammates to deliver high-quality software that supports researchers and publishers.

The role requires strong experience with Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, React or Angular, and modern DevOps practices in AWS/Docker/Kubernetes.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Java, Spring / Spring Boot and a JavaScript/TypeScript toolkit (React, Angular).
• Experience with SQL, Git and CI/CD (GitHub Actions / Jenkins).
• Ability to collaborate with stakeholders and mentor teammates.
• Experience with alerting/monitoring/logging tools (New Relic, OpenSearch/Kibana, Coralogix).
• Familiar with IDEs (IntelliJ / VSCode) and refactoring tools; tests with Jest/Mockito.
• Proficient in Jira/Confluence for documentation; Agile (Scrum/Kanban) practices.
• Cloud-focused design (Docker, Kubernetes, AWS) and exposure to Terraform.

Responsibilities
