Job summary

Elsevier seeks a Senior Full-Stack Software Engineer to design, develop, and deploy cloud-based applications for research and publication workflows. You will collaborate with stakeholders to shape requirements and drive architecture for scalable, performant services.

The role emphasizes mentoring, TDD, and modern tooling (Docker/Kubernetes/AWS). A strong focus on AI-driven solutions and continuous improvement is expected within an agile, cross-functional team.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Java, Spring/Spring Boot and a JavaScript/TypeScript stack (React/Angular) with SQL.
• Experience with build tools, Git, and CI/CD (GitHub Actions/Jenkins).
• Collaborative approach to solving problems and mentoring teammates.
• Experience with monitoring/logging tools (New Relic, OpenSearch/Kibana, Coralogix).
• Experience with IDEs (IntelliJ/VSCode) and refactoring tools.
• Willingness to adopt AI-based solutions and cloud approaches (Docker, Kubernetes, AWS).
• Experience with TDD and mocking libraries (Jest, Mockito).
• Proficiency with Jira and Confluence for documentation.
• Knowledge of Agile (Scrum/Kanban) and DevOps practices (Terraform).

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy cloud-hosted distributed applications for the next-generation product.
