Job summary

Gymshark is seeking a Senior Backend Software Engineer to help build technology for global growth. You’ll work with Golang, AWS serverless, and event-driven architectures to design scalable APIs and services that power customer-facing and internal products.

You will lead technical implementations, mentor engineers, and collaborate across Product, Data, and Platform teams to deliver high-impact features. This hybrid role in Solihull combines hands-on coding with architectural guidance.

Qualifications

• Experience writing production Golang code.
• Experience with cloud serverless services (AWS/Lambda, Google Cloud Run, Azure Functions).
• Must have demonstrable knowledge building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience designing, setting up relational and non-relational databases.
• Experience designing, building and maintaining scalable APIs.
• Understanding of Event Driven Architecture concepts.
• Experience using Git and branching strategies.
• Experience implementing quality and testing practices such as unit/contract testing.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical implementations to deliver high-quality work on time.
• Use Golang to design, build and maintain APIs, services and integrations.
• Implement event-driven solutions for critical processes.
• Create, maintain and develop CI/CD pipelines.
• Leverage AWS Serverless technologies (Lambda, EventBridge, SQS, DynamoDB).
• Write maintainable, well-tested code following engineering standards.
• Follow an Agile development approach.
• Maintain services with strong observability and proactive monitoring; respond to incidents.
• Mentor and coach other engineers; improve engineering standards.
