Job summary

Xe.com in the United Kingdom is seeking a senior full-stack engineer to own problems end-to-end, shaping how the team builds from API design to backend services and production reliability. You will work with product, design and compliance, leading cross-functional delivery and mentoring mid-level engineers.

You will write production-ready code, move money across systems, and modernize the stack using AI tooling daily.

Qualifications

• 6 to 10+ years building production web applications, end-to-end.
• Frontend proficiency with Vue.js or React.
• Backend proficiency in C# / .NET; other OO languages welcome.
• Strong SQL and relational database fundamentals.
• Experience shipping with tests as part of the process.
• Daily use of AI-assisted coding tools across the SDLC.
• Production AWS experience with CI/CD and modern deployment.
• Strong system design and microservices/SOA experience.
• Experience in payments, FX, or regulated industries is a plus.
• Proven technical leadership: mentoring and architectural decisions.
• Excellent cross-functional communication.

Responsibilities

• Design and own features across the stack that move money and manage multi-currency balances.
• Lead delivery of customer-facing features from interface to services.
• Own production health: reliability, observability, on-call, incident response.
• Lead cross-functional delivery with product, design, and compliance.
• Lead design reviews and set technical direction; mentor engineers.
• Use AI coding tools daily across the SDLC and modernize legacy services.
