Job description

Chemify is revolutionising chemistry. We are creating a future where the synthesis of previously unimaginable molecules, drugs, and materials is instantly accessible. By combining AI, robotics, and the world’s largest continually expanding database of chemical programs, we are accelerating chemical discovery to improve quality of life and extend the reach of humanity.

Our Chemifarm facility in Glasgow operates a growing fleet of advanced robotic systems that automate synthesis, optimisation, and library generation. This gives our computational scientists something rare: a direct, high-throughput bridge from in silico design to physically synthesised molecules, closing the design–make–test loop at a pace conventional drug discovery organisations cannot match.

Location: Glasgow, UK (hybrid)

Travel: Occasional travel to our San Francisco site

The Role

We are seeking an Engineering Project Manager to keep our multidisciplinary engineering delivery on track — coordinating hardware, firmware, software, and manufacturing workstreams as we build and scale our platform across sites. You will be the connective tissue: turning ambitious technical goals into clear plans, surfacing risks early, and keeping everyone aligned across Glasgow and San Francisco.

What sets this role apart is the breadth: few PM roles span hardware, firmware, software, and manufacturing on a single platform that physically makes molecules.

If bringing order to ambitious, cross-disciplinary engineering sounds like the right shape of job for you, we’d love to welcome you to our team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and drive delivery across hardware, firmware, software, and manufacturing workstreams.

  • Build and maintain realistic schedules, track dependencies, and manage risk proactively.

  • Run the rhythm of the team — standups, planning, reviews, and status reporting to leadership.

  • Keep cross-site and cross-functional stakeholders aligned and unblocked.

  • Manage scope and priorities pragmatically in a fast-changing environment.

  • Improve how the engineering org plans and ships over time.

About You

You are a calm, organised operator who makes complex delivery look manageable. You are comfortable with technical detail without needing to be the deepest expert in the room, and you drive outcomes through influence rather than authority.

We expect you to bring:

  • 3–5+ years in project/program management for engineering or hardware-heavy products.

  • A track record coordinating multidisciplinary teams (some mix of hardware, firmware, software, manufacturing).

  • Strong planning, risk-management, and communication skills, and composure under pressure.

  • Comfort with technical detail without needing to be the deepest expert in the room.

  • A highly organised, proactive style and the ability to drive without authority.

Beneficial Skills

  • Experience in deep-tech, robotics, lab automation, scientific instruments, or manufacturing.

  • Familiarity with tools such as [ClickUp / Jira / Linear].

  • Experience coordinating across multiple sites or time zones.

Why Join Chemify?

Impact. You will be the reason ambitious, cross-disciplinary engineering actually ships — keeping a platform that makes molecules moving.

Autonomy. Reporting to [Jad Berro, Head of Automation], you will own how engineering plans and delivers across sites.

Ambition. We are a Series B deep-tech company at the frontier of AI, robotics, and chemistry — with the mandate to orchestrate delivery across the whole platform.
