Job summary

Spotify's WhoSampled team is hiring a Senior Fullstack Engineer to join a small, impact-focused group building across backend, data pipelines, and frontend UI.

You'll work with Python/Django and Java, PostgreSQL, and modern web tech (TypeScript/React), aiming to improve metadata matching and infrastructure reliability.

You’ll own features end-to-end, shape the product, and contribute to AI-powered tooling within Spotify's ecosystem.

Qualifications

• Experience building production software across backend, frontend, data, or infra.
• Proficient in Python (Django) and Java; production PostgreSQL experience.
• Familiarity with Elasticsearch is a plus.
• Experience with TypeScript and React for user-facing features.
• Experience with Linux and cloud environments (GCP or similar).
• Ability to work with ambiguity and ownership.
• Interest in AI to automate toil and improve data quality.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain across the stack: backend services, APIs, data pipelines, and frontend interfaces.
• Improve metadata matching and ML-assisted disambiguation.
• Drive infrastructure modernization with platform and security stakeholders.
• Take end-to-end ownership: design, build, ship, operate.
• Be AI-forward: bring AI tooling to engineering practice.
