Job summary

Spotify is seeking a Staff Engineer for the Content Intelligence Product Area to help build and scale foundational infrastructure powering content understanding across our platforms. This role sits at the intersection of backend systems, ML infrastructure, and data processing, with collaboration across product and engineering leadership.

You will lead architectural decisions for distributed systems, drive scalable content processing pipelines, and mentor engineers while shaping long-term

Qualifications

• Extensive experience building and scaling large-scale backend infrastructure.
• Strong judgment balancing scalability, reliability, cost and product needs.
• Experience with AI/LLMs in production at scale.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and evolution of data, backend and ML infrastructure systems powering content intelligence.
• Build scalable infra for multimodal content processing across audio, video, text and image pipelines.
• Collaborate with PMs, EMs and senior engineers to shape technical strategy for the product area.
• Drive decisions across distributed systems, ML infra, data platforms and platform reliability.
• Mentor engineers and raise engineering standards across the organization.
