Job summary

Change-IT Public Sector is seeking an experienced Senior Full Stack Developer / Technical Lead in the Midlands. The role combines hands-on coding with leadership of onshore and offshore teams, focusing on Node.js, React, and TypeScript to deliver cloud-native software solutions.

You will own architecture, drive engineering standards, and collaborate with architects, cloud, product and business teams while guiding a strong development group.

Qualifications

• Strong commercial experience with Node.js and React in production environments.
• Experience building RESTful APIs and modern app architectures.
• AWS and PostgreSQL experience, with containerized deployments.
• Proficiency with Docker, Git, and CI/CD pipelines; leading/mentoring teams.

Job description

Location: Midlands - Hybrid, 2-3 days per week onsite

We're looking for an experienced Senior Full Stack Developer / Technical Lead with strong Node.js and React expertise to join a growing technology business delivering modern, cloud-native software solutions.

This is a hands-on leadership role - approximately 70% coding/architecture and 30% leading an onshore and offshore development team.

The Role

• Design and build applications using Node.js, React and TypeScript.
• Own technical architecture and key engineering decisions.
• Build scalable backend services and REST APIs using Node.js.
• Lead, mentor and support onshore and offshore developers.
• Drive code quality, reviews and engineering standards.
• Work with AWS, PostgreSQL, Docker and CI/CD.
• Collaborate with Architects, Cloud, Product and Business teams.

About You

You’ll have strong commercial experience with:

• Node.js - essential
• React 18+ and TypeScript - essential
• REST APIs and modern application architecture
• AWS and PostgreSQL
• Docker, Git and CI/CD
• Leading or mentoring development teams
• Terraform, Kubernetes, Redis or microservices experience would be advantageous.
