Job summary

Jobtailor in London is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design and deliver robust, scalable software supporting product and business goals. You will work with Principal Engineers to champion engineering best practices and lead research, spikes and proofs of concept.

You will mentor engineers, conduct code reviews, and collaborate with Product Owners and Testers to define acceptance criteria. This hybrid role requires London presence once a week and offers opportunities to shape

Qualifications

Expertise in Java or C# and scripting languages (Bash, Python, Ruby).
Experience with Test-Driven Development (TDD) and Behavior-Driven Development (BDD).
Experience with CI pipelines and modern delivery practices.
Cloud experience with AWS services (EC2, S3, Lambda, SQS/SNS, EventBridge).
London-based or hybrid work arrangement with office presence.

Requirements

Expertise in object-oriented programming languages (Java, C#)
Expertise in scripting languages: Bash, Python or Ruby
Test-driven development practices (TDD, BDD, etc.)
Excellent communication and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
Proactive and results oriented
Experience developing using CI pipelines and modern engineering and delivery best practices is highly desirable
Experience developing in cloud-based infrastructure, ideally AWS services including EC2, S3, Lambda, SQS/SNS and EventBridge, is desirable
A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or similar work-based experience
Proven experience as a Senior Software Engineer, ideally with a focus on media-related projects
Very good working knowledge of standard software development frameworks, techniques and methodologies
Experience providing coaching and mentoring
Ability to work collaboratively in a team, contributing to the development of business scenarios
Knowledge of software development tools and technologies
Flexible and curious approach
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Familiarity with MAC and Windows
Ability to work in London/Hybrid with 1 day a week in the office
