Responsibilities

• Lead and deliver fuel and propulsion testing projects from planning through completion.
• Develop detailed test plans to meet customer and project requirements.

• Analyse test data, identify trends and produce detailed technical reports.
• Investigate test failures and perform root cause analysis to improve future performance.
• Mentor and support junior engineers and technicians.
• Ensure testing is completed safely, efficiently and to high quality standards.

Senior Fuel & Engine Test Engineer

Milton Keynes- Monday to Friday (onsite)

Are you an experienced Fuel or Engine Test Engineer looking to take the lead on technically challenging testing projects? We are looking for a Senior Engineer with hands-on experience in fuel and engine testing to join a highly respected testing organisation. You will lead the delivery of complex testing programmes, work directly with customers and mentor a team of engineers and technicians, all while remaining technically involved. This is an excellent opportunity to work on cutting-edge propulsion and powertrain testing within a modern laboratory environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead and deliver fuel and propulsion testing projects from initial planning through to completion.
• Develop detailed test plans to meet customer and project requirements.
• Carry out hands-on testing using specialist laboratory equipment and dynamometer test facilities.
• Analyse test data, identify trends and produce detailed technical reports.
• Investigate test failures and carry out root cause analysis to improve future performance.
• Work closely with customers, providing technical guidance throughout projects.
• Mentor and support junior engineers and technicians.
• Ensure testing is completed safely, efficiently and to the highest quality standards.

The Person

• Previous industrial hands-on experience in fuel testing within an automotive setting.
• Strong understanding of engine or propulsion system test facilities.
• Experience using dynamometers, sensors and data acquisition systems.
• Ability to analyse technical data and produce detailed reports.
• Experience leading or coordinating engineering test projects.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
• Degree in Mechanical, Automotive or Electrical Engineering.
• Experience working in a customer-facing engineering or product development environment.
• Previous mentoring or leadership experience.
