We are looking for a talented Senior Development Engineer to join a growing engineering team in Milton Keynes. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the validation and development of advanced powertrain systems, working on technically challenging projects from concept through to delivery.
As a Senior Development Engineer, you will be responsible for the performance and reliability validation of powertrain systems, ensuring projects meet agreed functional, quality, cost and operational requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
As the Senior Development Engineer, your responsibilities will include:
- Assessing project requirements with internal and external stakeholders
- Developing and implementing robust test procedures
- Conducting performance and reliability validation activities
- Analysing test data and producing detailed technical reports
- Presenting findings to internal teams and external stakeholders
- Investigating unit-under-test failures and unexpected technical issues
- Identifying and implementing preventative and corrective actions
- Managing and coordinating project concerns and issue databases
- Creating, maintaining and managing detailed project plans
- Coordinating supplier delivery of hardware and software
- Supporting the installation, modification and commissioning of mechanical systems at client facilities
- Ensuring systems and features meet all specified requirements through validation testing
- Providing input into Sign-Off Summary reports and meta-analysis activities
- Supporting and mentoring less experienced engineers
- Providing technical support and answering engineering queries from clients and colleagues
- Working collaboratively across the wider business to deliver projects right first time
- Driving continuous improvement across testing, setup and data analysis activities
- Identifying opportunities to implement state-of-the-art technologies within validation activities
- Following Electrical Safety Management System (ESMS) requirements when working with hazardous voltage systems
- Promoting a strong Health & Safety culture across all testing activities
- Supporting the Commercial Team with technical and marketing opportunities where required
Essential Qualifications & Experience:
- Degree qualified in a relevant Engineering discipline
- Strong engineering and technical background
- Genuine interest in Powertrain Engineering
- Excellent understanding of engineering fundamentals and data handling
- Knowledge of project delivery within a systems engineering environment
- Strong technical report writing and presentation skills
- Proven experience delivering technical engineering projects
- 3+ years' post-graduate experience in a similar engineering role

- Electric motor, inverter or powertrain testing and development

- Leadership or mentoring experience
- Relevant Master's Degree or PhD
- First Aid qualification
- High Voltage competency
