Octopus Energy is seeking a Senior Frontend Engineer to join our Flexibility team. You will own frontend strategy, build advanced customer journeys, and deliver scalable interfaces that power millions of low-carbon decisions.

Collaborate with design and product to ship fast and help push a greener energy system. This role prefers hybrid work from our London office, with options for remote within the UK.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of frontend experience with React/TypeScript.
• Ability to translate problems into solid solutions.
• Ownership of the full development cycle from request to deployment.
• Collaborative mindset and ability to delegate effectively.
• Ability to build accessible, scalable websites.
• Desirable: energy domain knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Act as the frontend engineer for the flexibility team, establishing direction.
• Build and own diverse customer journeys for onboarding, control, and analysis of low carbon tech.
• Develop internal interfaces for stakeholders and experimental prototypes.
• Interface with mobile teams via WebViews for emerging journeys.
• Collaborate with design to integrate Coral into the system.
• Drive product discovery with the Product Manager and cross‑organisational stakeholders.
• Create highly reusable interfaces to enable rapid opportunity response.
