Job summary

Kraken, the leading cryptocurrency exchange, is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Payments & Blockchain team focused on payment systems. You will design, develop, and maintain high‑quality processing systems and help integrate Kraken with a growing universe of payment providers.

You will work on security, reliability, onboarding experiences, and mentor engineers while shaping product decisions with a deep understanding of financial systems and security best practices.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software development experience, web and mobile focus.
• Strong proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript, React and React Native.
• Experience with Next.js, RESTful APIs, and WebSockets.
• Experience with frontend testing frameworks.
• Knowledge of UI/UX best practices and secure, scalable financial software development.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain high-quality payment processing systems using React.js and related technologies.
• Build and refine seamless transaction experiences for speed, security, and reliability.
• Ensure an efficient onboarding experience for users interacting with payment systems.
• Develop features that enhance engagement, retention, and loyalty in the payments ecosystem.
• Set the standard for secure, high-quality code and lead development of complex financial software.
• Mentor engineers and influence strategy and product decisions with strong domain knowledge.
