The Role:

We are seeking a Senior Frontend Engineer to join our Consumer Tech Org specifically in the App team. This team is responsible for building the mobile and web applications that people use regularly to access their on demand pay before payday with zero/minimum fees, save for the future, and improve their financial literacy.

This role would suit a candidate an experienced frontend engineer. While familiarity with JavaScript, HTML, and CSS is essential, we're looking for a deep understanding of JavaScript and TypeScript, a passion for staying current with the latest mobile and web framework trends and tooling, and a proven track record of delivering robust, enterprise-level solutions.

How You Will Make an Impact:

• Technical Excellence - Building, architecting and monitoring high-quality React Native and React applications using TypeScript.

• Influence Technical Strategy - Be a key influencer in shaping our consumer app’s technical direction, actively exploring ways to improve the stability, performance and UX/UI of our mobile and web platform across multiple teams.

• Lead Technical Work Breakdown - Collaborate closely with the Engineering Manager, Product, Design and other Senior engineers to break down project requirements into clear, actionable technical tasks for the team.

• Own Your Impact & Drive Solutions - Take ownership of identifying valuable work by actively monitoring the health and performance of our app, engaging with user feedback and contributing to issue resolution.

• Empower the Next Generation - Mentor and guide junior mobile engineers, fostering their growth and technical expertise

What You Bring to The Team:

• Technical Ability - Proficiency in React (including Hooks, Context API, and modern best practices). TypeScript skills, with a deep understanding of types, interfaces, and generics. JavaScript (ES6+) knowledge and experience

• Mobile Development Expertise – Proven experience building high-quality mobile (and optionally web) applications using React Native, Expo, and TypeScript. You understand the nuances of delivering performant, maintainable apps across platforms.

• Testing Mindset – Strong grasp of automated testing principles and tools. Bonus points for hands-on experience with Detox, Playwright, or other mobile/web testing frameworks.

• Collaborative Spirit – Comfortable working cross-functionally with designers, product managers, and other engineers. You enjoy sharing knowledge, unblocking teammates, and being part of a supportive, growth-oriented team.

• Understanding of UI/UX principles and accessibility guidelines

Nice to Haves:

• Experience with RESTful API integration and data fetching

• Experience with state management solutions (e.g., Redux, Zustand, Context API)

• Experience with Node.js and back-end technologies (e.g., Express, NestJS)

• Familiarity with serverless platforms (e.g., AWS Lambda, Google Cloud Functions)

• Experience with database technologies (e.g., PostgreSQL, MongoDB)

• Exposure to CI/CD pipelines.

• Native module integration with Expo for example

• Experience with Golang
