Frontend Engineer - PerfectScale by DoiT

Location

Our Frontend Engineer will be an integral part of our Engineering teams in EMEA. This role is based remotely as a full-time employee in the UK, Ireland, Estonia, Netherlands, Sweden, and Spain. We are also open to contractors in East Europe and Portugal.

The Opportunity

As a Frontend Engineer, you will play a key role in building the user-facing components of PerfectScale's platform. You'll work closely with product managers, designers, and fellow engineers to deliver intuitive, responsive, and high-performance user experiences. You'll be involved in shaping the product, influencing architectural decisions, and ensuring a seamless interface between users and our powerful backend systems.

Responsibilities

1. Collaborate with product, devops, backend, and frontend engineers to deliver elegant and well thought out solutions for complex problems.
2. Implement features. From the proposal through design and implementation to maintenance. You're expected to propose enhancements that can be an excellent addition to the products.
3. Write clean and maintainable code using engineering best practices, and perform code reviews for your peers.
4. Improve the health of the codebase. We dedicate one day per week to housekeeping to manage technical debt.
5. Provide feedback. The team plans and discusses upcoming work, providing feedback to identify challenges and unknowns early.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of hands-on experience with React.js in production environments.
• Strong proficiency in JavaScript, including DOM manipulation and the JavaScript object model.
• Experience with TypeScript in large-scale applications.
• Experience writing comprehensive E2E tests.
• Proficient in building responsive, accessible, and performant user interfaces.
• Experience with front-end development tools such as Babel, Webpack, Vite, NPM, Yarn, etc.
• Experience developing and integrating with RESTful APIs.
• Experience with enterprise-grade SaaS products, micro frontends, and component-based architectures.
• Proactive, detail-oriented, with a can-do approach.
• Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, evolving team environment.
• Self-organized, goal-oriented, confident, thorough, and tenacious.
• Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.

Bonus Points

• Hands-on, production experience with Kubernetes.
• Experience building systems in cloud environments, especially AWS.
• Experience with backend technologies like Golang, Python, and Node.js.
• Familiarity with modern DevOps frameworks and best practices - Docker, K8S, GitOps, CI/CD.
