Job summary

CipherTek Recruitment is partnering with a global investment bank to hire a Senior Front-End Engineer to join a flagship SPA platform for derivatives trading. The role is hybrid in London, with 1 day per week in the City office, paying up to £800 per day on a contract basis outside IR35.

You'll work in a high-performance front-office environment using TypeScript, ES6, HTML5 and CSS, delivering resilient, real-time UIs and leveraging AI tools to accelerate development.

Senior Front-End Engineer - Investment Banking | Contract Upto £800 p/d (Outside IR35) | London / Hybrid (1 Day/Week in Office)

We are partnering with a global investment bank to hire a Senior Front-End Engineer to join a flagship team delivering a next-generation, single-page application (SPA) platform for high-performance derivatives trading. This is a high-profile role on a mission-critical, front-office system with exceptional technical standards.

You'll work at the cutting edge of financial technology, contributing to a modern, reactive web platform used across trading desks. This is not your typical enterprise UI - it's fast, data-intensive, and built to scale with real-time demands in a trading environment.

The Opportunity

• Collaborate with elite engineers on a SPA used across the investment bank for derivatives trading.
• Build elegant, high-performance UIs with real-time data updates and functional programming paradigms.

• Strong commercial experience with TypeScript, ES6, HTML5, and advanced CSS.
• Proven delivery of performance-critical SPAs, ideally within front-office trading or other high-frequency environments.
• Proficiency with functional and reactive programming using immutable data structures.
• Attention to UI/UX detail - you take pride in building intuitive, beautiful products.
• Comfortable working in collaborative, high-performance teams.
• Confident daily use of LLMs and agent-mode AI tools to accelerate development and enhance workflow.

Nice to Have

• Familiarity with Angular + NgRx or React + Redux.
• Full stack experience using a typed backend language like Java, C#, or F#.
• Date rate: upto £800 p/d (Outside IR35)
• Duration: 12 months rolling
• Location: London (Hybrid - 1 day/week in the office, rest flexible)
