VANRATH is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join a collaborative Agile team in Belfast. You will deliver scalable, mission-critical software for financial services, while shaping technical direction and mentoring peers.

You will work across the full SDLC, leveraging modern tools and cloud technologies to drive performance, security and quality in high-velocity environments.

They're looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join a collaborative Agile team, delivering scalable, business-critical applications while helping shape technical direction and mentoring other developers. Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop modern front-end solutions in collaboration with architects and senior engineers.
• Take ownership of technical delivery, ensuring high-quality, scalable and maintainable code.
• Provide technical leadership, mentoring and support to team members, including experience managing or coaching direct reports.
• Drive continuous improvement by evaluating new technologies, frameworks and development practices.
• Work across the full software development lifecycle, from design through to deployment and support.
• Collaborate within cross-functional Agile teams to deliver high-impact software solutions.
• Experience building scalable, reusable UI components and responsive web applications.
• Knowledge of modern component libraries (e.g. Material UI or similar).
• Experience with automated testing (Cypress, Selenium or equivalent).
• Familiarity with build tools such as Webpack or Vite.
• Understanding of performance optimisation, web security and software engineering best practices.
• Experience working across the full SDLC in Agile environments.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Previous experience leading, mentoring or managing developers, including direct reports, is essential.
• Experience with Storybook, Figma or similar UI tools.
• Exposure to cloud technologies (AWS or Azure).
• Experience with C#, relational databases and modern testing practices (TDD/BDD).
• Previous experience within financial services, trading platforms or other highly regulated environments.
