Job summary

Candour is seeking an experienced Senior Frontend Developer in Chester, hybrid role. You will own frontend architecture, drive refactors, and shape a business-critical platform using React and Next.js.

You will work autonomously with stakeholders and engineers, delivering scalable UI components and modern frontend patterns while collaborating across UX/UI and backend teams to ensure API alignment and performance.

Qualifications

• Extensive commercial experience with React.js and Next.js.
• Strong hands-on experience with Next.js architecture (App Router, Server Components).
• Proven track record refactoring or modernising frontend applications.
• Solid understanding of modern frontend development principles and API integration.

Responsibilities

• Lead frontend refactor of existing app using Next.js App Router.
• Implement and optimise Server Components and Server Actions.
• Develop scalable UI components with React and Next.js.
• Integrate frontend with OpenAPI-driven Node.js backend APIs.
• Improve client- and server-side caching for performance.
• Collaborate with UX/UI and backend teams to align APIs.
