Job summary

DWP Digital is seeking a Senior Front-End Developer to lead the development of reusable Front-End patterns and contribute to the DWP Design System. You will help design and deliver accessible, user-centred interfaces while guiding teams toward best practices and high-quality software.

You will mentor colleagues, champion accessibility standards, and help align front-end work with government design and engineering principles.

Qualifications

• Proven experience designing accessible, user-centred interfaces meeting WCAG 2.2 standards.
• Experience integrating Front-End apps with back-end services and other systems.
• Strong track record in leading and guiding development teams.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary agile teams delivering high-quality digital products.
• Ability to coach, mentor and grow capability across teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of reusable Front-End patterns, components and code libraries.
• Shape the technical direction of the DWP Design System and contribute to cross-government standards.
• Build, release, maintain and support Front-End products using modern tooling and TDD.
• Champion accessibility and design consistency across products and components.
• Mentor colleagues, engage with engineering and user-centred design communities.
