Job summary

Monks is seeking a seasoned Copy Monk to craft engaging marketing and editorial content across digital campaigns, social content, articles and case studies. You will research, develop and refine stories that resonate with audiences, while adhering to brand voice and style guidelines.

You will present ideas, collaborate with clients and internal teams, and translate briefs into compelling narratives under tight deadlines.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years of professional writing experience in marketing or journalism.
• Strong portfolio across digital, video, social formats.
• Ability to write in brand voice and adhere to style guides.
• Excellent communication and teamwork; able to work independently or remotely.
• Ability to craft stories from briefs, interviews, trends, and drafts written by others.

Responsibilities

• Wield words, wisdom and wit on behalf of our client, who looks to us for big-picture thinking, direct partnership, and creative production of digital campaigns and social content.
• Research and write stories that engage prospects, readers, and subscribers through compelling articles and case studies.
• Develop concepts and copy for content that gives marketers access to emerging online behaviors, shares insights from leading marketers and campaigns, and explains the technological innovations marketers need to understand.
• Present ideas and build client relationships with moxie, aplomb, and humanity.
• Lead the copy conversation with clients; proactively respond to feedback in person and in writing; follow up with creative and account teams throughout the project.
• Explore ways to help your clients beyond the immediate scope and think strategically about their bigger needs.
• Track industry trends and pitch stories relevant to the client’s readership and editorial strategy.
• Ensure copy is well-crafted, engaging, consistent, and aligned with brand objectives.
