Job summary

Advanced Resource Managers Ltd is seeking a Lead Hardware Engineer in Luton for a 12-month contract. The role focuses on high-speed digital design and FPGA/SoC architectures within a regulated defence environment.

You will support hardware integration, testing, and qualification activities in cooperation with engineering teams. The candidate should have proven experience in aerospace/defense electronics, board-level debugging, and compliance with EMC/EMI requirements.

Qualifications

• Proven experience designing high-speed digital electronics in aerospace/defense.
• Strong FPGA/SoC hardware architecture experience.
• Practical board-level debugging with test instrumentation.
• Experience integrating hardware, firmware and software on embedded systems.
• Experience meeting EMC/EMI and environmental requirements.
• Knowledge of DO-254 and aerospace standards.
• Experience with FPGA signal processing architectures.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop complex digital/mixed-signal hardware for defence/aerospace.
• Define hardware architectures for FPGA, SoC and processor-based systems.
• Capture schematics and support PCB layout for high-speed designs.
• Design/verify high-speed interfaces (DDR, PCIe, Ethernet).
• Integrate FPGA, processor, software and firmware into system solutions.
• Perform design analysis, simulation, validation and verification.
• Support bring-up, debugging and root-cause investigations.
• Collaborate with Systems, Firmware, Software, RF and Mechanical teams.
• Support environmental, EMC/EMI and qualification testing.
• Produce documentation and progress reporting per lifecycles.
• Support customer demonstrations, integration, and trials.
