Your new role

This is a key appointment within the FP&A team and represents an excellent opportunity for an ambitious finance professional looking to progress their career. Importantly, there is the potential for the successful individual to develop into a future successor to the Head of FP&A.You will support the financial planning, forecasting, reporting and analysis across the UK business, helping to connect strategy with financial and operational performance.Working closely with the UK CFO, Finance Directors, senior budget holders and the wider finance leadership team, you will provide meaningful commercial insight and challenge to support better business decisions.Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing commercial insight into the key drivers of business performance, identifying risks, opportunities and emerging trends.
  • Consolidating financial results, budgets and forecasts and translating complex financial information into clear, actionable insight.
  • Developing financial models and analysis to support future strategic and commercial decisions.
  • Supporting the month-end close and performance reporting process.
  • Business partnering with senior stakeholders to identify opportunities to improve performance, enhance efficiency and deliver cost savings.
  • Planning and delivering quarterly rolling forecasts and the annual budgeting process.
  • Preparing high-quality presentations, analysis and commentary for the Board, UK leadership and Group.
  • Driving improvements to FP&A processes, reporting and ways of working.
  • Supporting M&A activity, including financial due diligence, analysis and post-acquisition integration.
  • Contributing to the development and implementation of new planning systems, technology and AI-enabled tools.
What you'll need to succeed

There are two strong routes into this opportunity. You may be an ACA-qualified accountant from a Big 4 or leading accountancy firm, ideally with experience within Transaction Services, Deals, Financial Due Diligence, M&A or a similar advisory environment, who is now looking to make a first move into a senior commercial finance and FP&A position.Alternatively, you may already be working as a Senior FP&A Analyst, FP&A Manager or commercial finance professional within a sizeable corporate environment, ideally within financial services, insurance or another complex, data-driven organisation.Whichever route you have taken, you will need to demonstrate:

  • A recognised professional accounting qualification, ideally ACA, ACCA or CIMA.
  • Strong financial modelling, forecasting and analytical capability.
  • Advanced Excel skills, with exposure to Power Query and modern planning or BI tools highly desirable.
  • The ability to interpret complex financial information and turn it into clear commercial insight.
  • Strong communication and business-partnering skills, with the confidence to work with senior stakeholders.
  • A proactive, inquisitive mindset and the desire to challenge and improve existing processes.
  • A genuine interest in how technology, automation and AI can improve the effectiveness of finance.
  • The ambition and potential to develop into a future finance leader.
What you'll get in return

You will receive a competitive salary of £80,000 to £100,000 per annum, depending on experience, together with a bonus, pension and healthcare package. The business offers an exceptional hybrid working model, requiring just one day per week in the office, providing genuine flexibility and work-life balance.Perhaps most importantly, this is an opportunity to join a growing and acquisitive international business in a high-profile FP&A role with C-Suite exposure, involvement in M&A and strategic projects, and a genuine opportunity to progress towards Head of FP&A.For an ambitious finance professional, this could provide an excellent platform for long-term career progression.
