Job summary

Beach Baker Property Recruitment is supporting a well-established forestry and land management business in appointing a Head of Forestry Management to lead operations across the South of England from Exeter, with regional travel.

You will manage a diverse portfolio of woodland assets, drive high standards, develop private and institutional client relationships, and lead a skilled team in delivering safe, compliant forestry operations.

Qualifications

• Forestry degree or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum 5 years in forestry management.
• Willingness to travel regionally and work outdoors.

Responsibilities

• Lead forestry assets across the South of England, delivering annual work programmes on time and within budget.
• Act as a key point of contact for private and institutional clients, building long-term relationships.
• Ensure all forestry operations comply with Health & Safety legislation, UKFS and UKWAS.
• Oversee project finances, including budgeting, cost control, and invoicing.
• Manage staff, contractors, and resources to ensure safe delivery of operations.
• Ensure company procedures, reporting requirements, and service standards are met.
