Qualifications

• Experience in forest management and woodland creation.
• Strong technical forestry knowledge and understanding of industry issues.
• Commercial awareness and understanding of business management principles.
• Knowledge of forestry legislation, grants and environmental policy.
• Experience managing budgets, contracts and operational programmes.
• Good GIS and IT skills.
• Excellent communication and client relationship abilities.
• Ability to work independently while contributing in a team.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of client forests and estate woodlands.
• Prepare and implement forest management plans.
• Develop new woodland creation opportunities and support business growth.
• Budget preparation and financial management.
• Plan, procure and supervise forestry operations.
• Contract management and supervision of contractors.
• Prepare grant and funding applications.
• Ensure compliance with forestry legislation and industry best practice.
• Manage health and safety across forestry operations.
• Utilise GIS and digital mapping tools to support project delivery.
• Build and maintain relationships with clients, contractors and stakeholders.
