Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Digital Forensic Specialist to join a market-leading Digital Forensic and Investigations team within a prominent British universal bank with a significant global presence. This role involves leading complex digital forensic and cyber incident investigations, aiming to deliver positive outcomes for both internal and external stakeholders. You will enhance the organisation's investigative capability and safeguard against insider threats by driving change and implementing effective solutions.

To be successful as a Senior Forensic Specialist, you should have:

  • Ample Digital Forensic Investigation skills and mindset
  • Professional Digital Forensic certification(s), with experience utilising industry-standard Digital Forensic Tooling
  • Experience as a corporate or law enforcement investigator, with PEACE/interview experience

Other highly valued skills include:

  • Prior people management experience
  • Python scripting/programming experience or certifications
  • Network, Cloud, or AI experience

You may be assessed on key skills such as risk and controls, change and transformation, business acumen, strategic thinking, digital and technology skills, as well as job-specific technical skills.

This role offers the option to work from London, Radbroke, or Knutsford office locations.

Purpose of the role

To investigate and analyse digital evidence related to cyber incidents, security incidents, insider threats, and incidents contravening Barclays policies, processes, and potential criminal activity.

Accountabilities
  • Identify cybercrimes and determine the nature of incidents such as malware, insider threats, digital fraud, or employee misconduct in breach of Barclays policies.
  • Collect digital evidence by gathering, preserving, and documenting data in a forensically sound manner to ensure legal admissibility.
  • Implement incident response procedures for swift investigation, containment of threats, and post-incident analysis to understand root causes and prevent recurrence.
  • Trace individuals suspected of breaches or criminal activity using digital forensic best practices.
  • Support legal proceedings by presenting findings, preparing reports, and collaborating with legal professionals, ensuring compliance with legal standards.
  • Provide insights to enhance cybersecurity measures and prevent future incidents based on investigation findings.
  • Maintain up-to-date skills and knowledge in cyber forensic investigations, incident response, legal, and regulatory changes.

  • Consult on complex issues; advise People Leaders to resolve escalated issues.
  • Develop policies and procedures to mitigate risks and support governance.
  • Manage risks and strengthen controls related to investigative work.
