Job summary

Pilgrim's Europe in North Devon is seeking a site Technical Lead responsible for all technical aspects of the designated business unit. You will drive HACCP-based quality systems, ensure food safety, legality and customer standards, and work with operations to deliver site KPIs.

You will partner with Factory Management to foster a Food Safety & Quality culture, lead audits, implement improvements and provide technical guidance across departments to support performance and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain a HACCP-based quality system to meet BRC/customer standards and ensure food safety, quality and legality.
• Lead and motivate a Food Safety & Quality culture with site management to improve technical aspects (product, process, hygiene) to meet customer and legal KPIs.
• Audit factory environment and activities to assess standards and ensure continuous improvement of site technical standards.
• Manage workload and priorities, encouraging ownership and team unity.
• Report site and BU technical performance to internal/external stakeholders; keep teams aware of status and challenges.
• Provide technical guidance, training and support to other departments.
• Work with customers/statutory bodies to implement legislation and customer standards; during audits provide information and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure new equipment/fabrication enhances technical performance.
• Analyze microbiological/chemical/allergen results to determine corrective and preventive actions.
• Manage serious incidents to establish root causes and corrective/preventive actions.
• Investigate and implement new technologies; work with central functions to maintain Food Quality & Safety systems.
• Drive customer complaint reduction plans.
