Job description

My client, an innovative, diverse Multidisciplinary Consultancy is searching for a Senior Flood Risk and Drainage Engineer to join their already-established team of design engineers, near the northern maritime city of Hull.

Essential Criteria:

• A Degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or other relevant discipline
• Extensive experience of working with drainage strategies and flood risk projects
• Demonstrable experience of writing Flood Risk Reports, producing Flood Risk Assessments (FRAs), working with Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS)
• Outstanding working knowledge of the relevant Section Agreements (including S104, S106, etc.)
• Knowledge of the relevant software packages, including TUFLOW, Flood Modeller, InfoDrainage, etc.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Experience of working with a team of diverse individuals, providing leadership and mentorship
• Demonstrable experience of developing and managing stakeholder relations

It would also be beneficial for applicants for the role of Senior Flood Risk and Drainage Engineer to have the following:

• Experience of project or team management
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD and other relevant 3D design software
• Excellent communication skills
• Good time management skills

In your new role of Senior Flood Risk and Drainage Engineer, you will be joining a team of highly experienced design engineers, working on a number of varied, high-profile projects across the region. Progressing through your career, you will take on a variety of different responsibilities, including the following:

• Leading a skilled team in working on a broad range of projects, developing flood risk and drainage strategies
• Delivering all projects to the highest of standards, within the given timeframes and designated budgets
• Undertaking technical analysis using the appropriate software packages
• Reviewing and approving accurate technical information, including calculations, drawings, and models
• Overseeing and managing stakeholder relations with a range of public and private clients
• Undertaking site meetings and inspections
• Contributing to projects, adhering to industry standards, designated budgets, and agreed timelines
