Job summary

Morris & Spottiswood Ltd is seeking an experienced Planner based in Glasgow to support fit-out and refurbishment projects. The role requires hands-on, delivery-focused planning with substantial on-site presence and collaboration with project teams across the lifecycle.

Ideal candidates will have at least 5 years in planning/operations, strong Asta Powerproject skills (v13) and familiarity with fast-track schemes in public and private sectors. Asta Powerproject on-site collaboration is essential.

Qualifications

Minimum 5 years’ planning/operational management experience.
Experience with fast-track fit-out projects.
Experience across public and private sector contracts advantageous.
Proficiency in Asta Powerproject (v13) essential; Primavera P6 desirable.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain fully logic‑linked construction programmes from tender through to completion.
Break down project scope into clear tasks, sequences and milestones aligned to methodology.
Work closely with project managers, site teams, commercial teams and subcontractors to gather planning information.
Monitor site progress and update programmes to reflect actual performance.
Identify programme risk, delay, opportunity and constraint, and propose mitigation strategies.
Analyse the critical path and assess impact of change, variation or disruption.
Prepare clear planning reports for internal management and external stakeholders.
Support resource and cost planning by aligning labour, plant and materials with programme requirements.
Attend and contribute to project and progress meetings with planning insights.
