Job summary

Microchip Technology Inc. is seeking a Senior Firmware Engineer to join the HMID Software Group in Whiteley.

You will participate in the full embedded software lifecycle—from requirements to design, implementation, testing and documentation—in a small, expert team within a global organization. Reporting to the HMID Software Manager, you will lead firmware activities, mentor junior engineers, review designs, and collaborate with Silicon Development to advance current and next‑generation touch

Qualifications

• B.Sc./B.Eng in Electronic Engineering or equivalent; 10+ years in embedded firmware.
• Strong C programming in embedded environment.
• Experience with microcontroller peripherals and full SDLC.
• AI literate and able to interpret datasheets and PCB schematics.

Responsibilities

• Analyse requirements for embedded software applications.
• Formulate innovative solutions in resource-constrained environments.
• Lead and mentor junior engineers; provide peer reviews.
• Manage firmware development projects and coordinate with Silicon Development and Applications.
• Perform unit, integration, and qualification testing of embedded software.
• Adopt AI in development processes and document designs.
